Jen and Brian's DIY barn wedding

It was an honor to photograph Jen and Brian's DIY wedding at a beautiful private location off of Falling Spring Road in Chambersburg, PA (my hometown!) on May 31, 2014. They were married at the edge of a small pond under the shade of a large tree and their reception was held in a barn strung with white lights, chandeliers and tree branches.  Jen is a photographer herself, and she and I met when she photographed my sister's wedding two years ago.

I have so many images I'd like to share from this wedding; the weather was perfect, the location picturesque, and I loved photographing all of the handmade DIY details that Jen and Brian and their family and friends put together.  From the wine bottles wrapped in lace and hemp to the guests' names written on stones to the mason jars for filling up on your favorite local brew and corn hole boards handmade by Jen and Brian, it was clear that they put a lot of work into planning every little detail. I had a blast with them and their guests and really appreciated their laid back personalities. It was also quite helpful that Jen is a photographer herself since she helped line people up and get them in order for group photos. I wish them many blessings and hope you enjoy these favorite moments from their day.

This was one of my favorite moments, during the "golden hour" as the sun was setting near the end of the reception when Jen and Brian were totally relaxed and enjoying themselves, tie-free, veil free, flower-free.

Love that golden sunlight shining through Jen's hair!

Delicious pork BBQ by CM Pig Out Catering with mac n' cheese and baked potato sides made by family members.

I love how they used the wine bottles as centerpieces and decorations combined with the rustic feel of the box of moss and pebbles with guests' names and their table numbers written on the back. The epic cake smash! Jen was not prepared to have a cupcake smashed in her face, but she was a trouper and handled it quite well! This photo doesn't quite capture the wiggling going on as Brian and Jen were groovin' to the song "Sexy and I Know It" by LMAO, but you can tell they're having fun! Cornhole boards handmade by Brian and Jen!
